I think after tomorrow I will be done - I'm pooped! I did stop tonight and sew - which makes me happy - Ive had this dress in my mind for a while. Navy and white knit with a bright red corsage - i love it!
I made the whale with Lia's wonderful Ms. Lucy the pocket Whale tutorial. Her blog and tutorials are fabulous! I wanted to make a cuppy pouch for Renee to thank her for the wonderful zippers. uhhhhh I sort uh jacked up the zipper on he left hand side, LOL :) Love ya
Thank you Renee for sending me the onesies so I could finally try out my doodle designs!!!! I will have a special announcement in the next few days regarding these designs! I am so very excited and thrilled about how these came out!
I started cutting this apron months ago and never finished. Today, I completed cutting and sewed most of it. I may keep it for myself because I don't like how I had cut the body of the apron. It's not a smooth roundness. It's almost completed. Need to wipe off chalk :-), top-stitch waist & neck ties and cut hanging threads.
I came across this tutorial on Lia's craft journey blog. If you are not following it.... jump on over there and subscribe. She is so talented and posts the cutest projects! I can't wait to see what she comes out with next! I've had a migraine since around lunch today so this is all from me folks! Tomorrow I plan on making the whale pouch :)
I used a small piece of muslin from my scrap pile for the face....(I really wanted to cut up a pair of my khaki pants but I resisted the urge), a scrap of navy for the hair that I had from making my nephew's pants, the lining was scraps from the first kimono I made, the pink ricrac from the Valentine's project and the red zipper from Renee!!!! Thank YOU :D
Made 4 more bracelets yesterday. I have an order for one cream and one black at work. I'm not extremely happy with the black. The top one is actually with two black ribbons scrunched and the 2nd is with one. Faux Peeps & CustomButtons Faux Peep Earrings drying Faux Peep Pendant
the kids were in school so i 'was' gonna get all my fabric folded and my sewing room finished. LOL! I had 2 realizations while attempting this....
1. the project is gonna take me the rest of my life 2. im too old to be in a squatted position for more than 2 minutes
I worked away until the boys got home at 1 and then we started getting ready for the baby shower at 3 - i dont know what happened to the time but I was literally sewing the baby shower gift at 2:45 - and -so- i totally didnt take a picture - i got the hint of a picture at the shower - lol! Its a onesie skirt and burpie with pink cross bones and skulls cause im hoping she'll be a bad ass - hee hee!
I hit the jackpot at goodwill tonight - of course I spent a to-tah of moolah but i could resist - got a couple of fantastic sweaters, some nice colorful knits to make dresses and FINALLY a pink floyd tee - i have to find the perfect accent tees to go with it but im in heaven!
ok so i did a candy with cotton this time. much easier but still puffier than i would like - this is something intended as a toy and i want something flat, something i can turn into a pin for my customers - or something - - i dont know o o o o o o o ....so Ill keep playing around and see what come up with!
I am so HAPPY with how this batch came out. I baked them 4 times gradually adding the layers of frosting and decorations! I'm also trying out a new glaze. The gingerbread men were still extremely wet in the photos.
Do you guys remember the Oliver+S Sailboat pants I made for my nephew for Christmas? My sister sent me a picture of him last night! The pants are cropped but with his cute little legs he will get longer wear out of them. I wish I could just kiss his face!
A friend of mine from work asked me to make a dress out of John Deere fabric a few months ago. I kept looking while I was out and about and hadn't really found a John Deere print except for flannel. I came across these while we were out on Saturday. The pink print that I used for the sleeve cuffs and hem is pink paisley with brown John Deere Tractors. He was thrilled with it and said he was going to get another one with a different print for another one of his neighbors. I finished it last night :)
Remember this. It's now 3 months later hahaha. At least it's done. I can live with the imperfections because it's all for me. I don't even know why it gave me so much trouble. Probably because the magazine image is not as fresh in my already failing memory
This bag destroyed a single needle and a set of my Schmetz Twins. I should have stopped at that point but I think if I had put this down again I would never get back to it.
That button is not staying. I need to find a really cool looking one. I'm thinking maybe those brown/tan wood-type buttons???
